Overseas Development Institute (ODI)

The Overseas Development Institute (ODI) is Britain's leading independent think tank on international development and humanitarian issues. Its mission is to inspire and inform policy and practice which lead to the reduction of poverty, the alleviation of suffering and the achievement of sustainable livelihoods in developing countries. This is achieved by locking together high-quality applied research, practical policy advice, and policy-focused dissemination and debate.

ODI hosts the Human Mobility Initiative (HMI), a leading platform for innovation and joint action to ‘do migration differently’ that builds on the Institute’s long-standing work on migration. HMI investigates and addresses knowledge gaps through research and policy engagement, identifying concrete policy options and entry points to make the most of the reality of human mobility.

ODI leads on the Hub’s communications, alongside research for the following themes: ‘Migrant perceptions, knowledge and decision making’ and ‘Resource flows: finance, trade and knowledge’.
