Charlot Jn Charles is a PhD student in Geography in the Foundation Federal University of Rondônia – UNIR, Brazil. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Presença Geográfica Magazine - RPGeo of PPGG / UNIR; Researcher at GepCultura - Study and Research Group Modes of Lives and Amazonian Cultures / UNIR. He is also a founding member of ASSHAPO - Association of Haitians in Porto Velho, Brazil.

Additionally Charlot is a coordinator and teacher at CUPIH: Portuguese Course for Haitian Immigrants in Porto Velho and is a senior researcher at Instituto Maria e João Aleixo with the MIDEQ team in Brazil. Charlot research interests include: cultural geography, regional development, Amazonian culture, riverside populations, traditional populations, immigration, ways of life, well-being, education, environmental education, religion and languages.
